KES

I am sitting here at work, now what a strange sounds from the outside?
There is a kestrel building a nest just in a tiny roof window in an opposite house!
I hope she/he will keep me company. The Kes is beautiful. There are lots of them here in the town, they help to reduce numerous, DIFFICULT and indescructible flocks of pidgeons.
I always think of that beautiful old film KES - so touching!

Within the family we call them By-pass birds, since we most often see them when we are in the car driving on the New road that has been built to by pass the small crowded streets of out towns and villages. They sit on the lamp posts surveying the grass verges for small mammals, or ocasionally hovering over something in the grass waiting to drop on it. They are lovely birds to look at anyway you see them and you have one close enough to watch it nesting! I envy you.

Oh yes, but mind you, I am at work and can“t do birdwatching. However at a beginning of my lunch break I saw Kes bringing something in the beak - looked like a dead mouse.
And By-pass bird, it is so good, yes! :-)
