The Ride

I am still so happy! I have received a birthday present from my daughter recently - a 2-hour horse ride. This afternoon she took me to the university - there is a Faculty of Agriculture farm and they have horses there. As my daughter Marta does her doctorate there and also rides there, she bought me a ride. I love horses and I wished so much to ride again! I did learn horseriding but it is 20 years ago and then I was too old to learn it properly. But I have never forgotten that beautiful feeling öf being one with a wonderful creature under me!
I rode a biiiig white horse called Coral. He was so kind and patient and made friends with me at once. Of course I didn´t have to saddle myself - I would definitely have problems - and I also had to receive a "leg up" because Coral was really too big for me to mount (something about the age and weight counts :-)).
However I found the rhytm again and enjoyed myself sooo much! Of course, it was only a walk; two times Coral tried trotting but I didn´t dare to try it after such a long pause.
Just who said that the world is the most beautiful from a horseback?
Only...ehm...I am sure my legs will HURT tomorrow. The worst is going DOWN the stairs :-)

Such a wonderful present, I love horses but they seem to love me too much, they try to lick me all over. One of the grooms at a racing stables I toured in Newmarket told me it was because I probably have very salty sweat. Judging by the way Losyn licks me when I come in from the heat he was probably right. I have never even sat on a horse and I'm far to old and arthritic to start now but I do envy you.

Ah, only sitting on a horseback can heal - they use horses for a hippotherapy. the only problem is to get up - and there are always means how to manage without straining your body.
And about being chewed - well, horses chew me and calves even eat my shirts, ble, sticky saliva everywhere, "wet kises"!:-)

Glad you had a good time, even with achy legs as an aftermath.

Ahh, I always loved horses. I never could have one, but a couple of times a friend let me ride her horse.

Oh, yes. I collected books of horse pictures, and ceramic horses and plastic horses and books on how to care for horses. :^)

How lovely! I hope you do it again.

If you soak in a very hot bath after unusual exercise, it prevents a lot of the stiffness.
