The heavy machinery fights with the deep mud in our small pond. I made two pictures - one early in the morning - by the way, all autumn mornings look like that here. The second later, in the afternoon. They still work on it!
The third picture is a composition with the very last callendulas and a creeper - make specially for you!

Your pond doesn't look small to me.

The arrangement is beautifully end of summer. Is the creeper Virginia Creeper Parthenocissus quinquefolia?

Haha, we have got the whole system of ponds and there are really giants, like Rožmberk Pond with 647ha, others with about 400-300ha!
Tourists pour here to visit them!
Ah, I really don´t know, it is very favourite here and we call it "dogs´ wine"! :-)

If it wasn't for Pen-y-fan Pond on top of the mountain here, which is a mile in circumference, I would be correcting your English when you refer to that small lake as a pond. Even a couple of acres of mud looks good in an early morning mist.

Wow, that's quite a pond - and an awful lot of mud! How long will the work take?

The flower-and-creeper arrangement is lovely, thank you!

How long? Well, I would like to know myself. Three more days?
And thank you!:-)

You are so lucky to live by a pond, even when it's been drained--I've seen other photos.

Lovely autumnal arrangement!

I never actually thought of ponds as things people drain and work on. Good heavens, what a job that must be.

The area I live in is famous for its pond-building activities. Original swamps were changed into a different biotop by the huge humans´ activities, beginning in 15th century. The whole system of man-built net of fishponds and canals counts hundreds of them - and all have been still taken care about, repaired and harvested by professionals from plain workers to university professors. Worth visiting - and I love it here!

Love the foggy morning--I grew up where the main winter weather is fog that never goes away. And the flowers are beautiful.

I like the foggy morning pond picture! I can just see that your leaves are turning color - ours are just beginning too. The flower arrangement is just gorgeous.
