Hi, do you also suffer from light deprivation? Or (if you live on the second hemisphere) are you caught in a Maelstrom of Christmas chores?
BOTH?????

Then let me introduce my daughter´s new puppy (yes, PUPPY!!!), Irish Setter called Kendy.

My daugher Marta and Kendy

Marta, Kendy and do you rememer Badík the Labrador?

Your daughter does realise that Irish Setters never grow up and that all setter puppies have the attention span of a hyperactive butterfly? But they are beautiful, gentle, loving and adorable, Kendy is a typical setter, and Badick is a lovely boy too.

Don´t worry, Kendy is not only a pet but he has a duty as a hunting dog. He is in a training and yes, Marta knows too well! Um...we all know very well, hahaha, he is absolutely crazy but he has already learned the most important orders and he absolved his first exhibition - with flying colours. And as Marian corrected me ( thank you!!!) - it is English Setter. Hahaha, butterfly, I must tell this to Marta!!!

My acquaintance with setters is mostly the Red variety and they could be trained very well and worked well in the show ring( they were trained for the Obedience competitions you see at Cruft's, and yes by friend Sue who now goes in for cross breeds mostly of the sheep dog crosses) but at home Kris and Jeremy were totally mad except during training sessions. You never knew what they were going to do next. In Kris's case it was quietly and unbeknown to us getting drunk on a glass of wine put down on a low table and couldn't stand up straight to save his life, he was about Kendy's age at the time, and gave a very good imitation of Bambi on ice(here if you haven't seen it http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QEP2gjzmGL4) on Sue's polished wood floors.

Your daughter is lovely, and so are the dogs!

I think Kendy is an English setter. The Irish setters are solid red, as far as I know.

Thank you - and yes, you are right, he is English! Marta laughed at me because I keep making this mistake every time! :-)

I remember it because many Irish folk are red-heads. :^)

Kris, didn't get much wider than Kendy is now but I swear his shoulders came up to my waist by the time he stopped growing up but he was the Irish variety, they could be bigger.

He's massive! How big will he be when he's fully grown?

I was assured that he will not grow much. Still - you should see him running. He looks like a Barzoj! Still a silly puppy, he would play with you eagerly!

Your daughter is beautiful, and so are the dogs! :-D

My brother has a huge bull mastiff that can put paws on his shoulder, and takes up an entire couch. Lovely nature, but far too big; I've seen it knock him over being playful. He also has a lovely black labrador, a favourite breed along with spaniels, probably because I know them so well from family pets.

As far as I know, big dogs are mostly good-natured and lovely ones. We say that as the master, as the dog though...:-)

Lovely dogs, both of them - and Marta looks lovely, too.

There must be quite a lot of dog-walking needed!

Thank you!
Dog-WALKING? Hahaha - more a cross-country! :-)Fortunately we live in a village and there is a vast garden - more a fenced meadow - so we do not have to walk every day both boys are free to roam there.

Kendy is now 6 months old - such a big grasshopper and licker he is! Really, both he and Badík enjoy the time together: we call them "a destruction gang"!:-):-)
