The snow is gone, it was falling at night but now it is 1,5°C above zero and raining.  As you probably know a view from my west-looking window, that with a pond, I made one picture from our north- looking one. You can see a Baroque small chapel, very uncommon design. It is protected as a precious one. A row of small trees in our future hornbeam fence. The pic taken at 14.20 approx.

Interesting. Is your little chapel like a wayside shrine? I've seen lots of those on the continent but since the UK is pretty much protestant and we got both Henry VIII and my relative Oliver Cromwell trying to root out Popishness we don't have that sort of thing here now ...

Well i don't know if it is only a Welsh thing but they are coming back in a way. Fatal accidents on the road are commemorated by little shrines all over the bits of Wales I drive, There's one on the Newport- Caerleon Road that now has a stone monument as well as the flowers and other bits and pieces.

Ah. True, our wayside shrines are in plenty here but this one is is actually a substitution for a church building. Our village is tiny, only 97 people, and in the past it belonged to a wealthy landlords of Schwarzenberg family ( our minister of foreign affairs is a descendant). The nearest church was 8 km and this structure was quite suitable for "keeping a decorum".
Um... Czech people were among the first reformers of the Church in the time of Schisma (3 Popes), accepted some ideas from John Wycleff and used them for a new view of the church which wanted to return to the Bible and a purity ( and poverty) of the Church. It led to a so called Hussite Revolution in 15th century. Very complex but very interesting - and vey Czech.

That is a Chapel of Ease, we have an other thing in common, only our chapel that gave the village it's name was demolished in the 1970s just before it fell down due to disrepair.
