Easter visitation

New calves! I chose the best "stars" of the whole kindergarten. They were not shy:-) The cattle are still in a shed but on Thursday they will go to the pasture. It is not usual but this extremely warm weather urges the grass to grow. Just some decent rain, please...
Hahaha, farmers are infamous for their wild weather wishes!



This one is my favourite! And the previous one is not a calf but a young bull and he has got a lovely hairstyle! A fine Angus Aberdeen, the white ones are Charolais and I call them Hobbitses:-)

I always think Charolais are very pretty beasts.

Is there any reason why some have yellow ear tags and others have pink?

A boy is pink (:-)) and a girl is yellow. That is an EU invention.:-)
These pretty Hobbitses are not pure Charolais, they are hybrids with an Angus...Not showing, though!

Ah, dear, this is an EU invention, every one has to have TWO tags with numbers and they are catalogued and checked and we have to send piles of forms and reports and tables - you wouldn´t believe it. All under EU control - the other side of the subvences - which never arrive in the right time and always less than promised...

Oh, how adorable. I love Charolais; we went to The Royal Easter Show on Friday and wandered through the cattle pavilions to see all the prize winning animals.

Hahaha, these are not so high in blood but they are very nice and lovely. I personally love angus best, they are so friendly and inquisitive with those biiiiig eard of theirs!
