At 5 in the morning I opened the door - shocking! More than 2cm of snow appeared overnight! Nice sight, very nice - but my journey to work was like a kind of adrenalin sport! The bus was literally skating on the road which was like a mirror. No traction!
The road goes down a hill with sharp bends and this place was decorated with at least 6 cars in various stage of disorder or damage with unhappy people around. Down the hill there was a big truck carrying live chicks and stuck helplessly. Mind you, the roads on "our side" are very poor and not suitable for big vehicles - the driver must have been out of his mind to use it. Now I am safe at work and thinking of my son, who will have to drive somewhere ...I am always worried but today it is even worse!

I'm glad you got to work safely, I probably wouldn't even have tried to walk down my hill to the bus, I would certainly not have tried to take my car out. Thinking good thoughts about your son's journey and safe return.

You are such a darling! Thanks - and you know you made me laugh with this Bohemian connection! Actually you are not the first nor the last one who made it. Allow me to explain: My country´s name is an ancient one (4th century AD) and comes from a Celtic Boiohaemum - tha Land of Boii - then Bohemia. The Czech Republic consists of three historical countries: Bohemia, Moravia and Salesia.People here are of Slavonic origin and speak one official Czech language.
Sorry but I couldn´t resist - I am a historian by my original ( and long forgotten) profession!:-) :-)
And now we are home safe but it is snowing and snowing abd snowing...Hug

Glad you're back safe! Some of my family came from Bohemia--at one time they owned a farm, but they sold it just before something happened to devalue money, so they lost nearly everything, and had to move (this was so long ago, I don't know anything more). Anna Pomasl and Maria Djenrojek (don't know how to spell it) are the only names I know from that side of the family. I had once seen photos of them in their old age. They were strong, lovely Czech women (aren't all Czech women beautiful?)
